Lion King

Disney's fabulous production, The Lion King, has won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The forty member cast performs beautifully in this musical with a delightful score by Elton John, Mark Mancina, Julie Taymor, Lebo M, Jay Rifkin and Hans Zimmer. Tim Rice’s lyrics are as brilliant as usual and the book is by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi. The evocative “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” won an Oscar, and that’s only one of the great songs that make The Lion King such a pleasure to watch. The characters in the show include Simba, the lion king, Nala the lioness, Mufasa, Rafiki, Simba’s evil uncle Scar, the charming Zazu, Timon, Banzai, Ed and Shenzi.
