Teneke

Teneke is a show that revolves around an Italian opera by that name as composed by the famous composer Fabio Vacchi. The opera itself was adapted from a Turkish novel published in 1955, again by that name, and written by Yaşar Kemal. This is a show for opera lovers and is guaranteed to move you with its story about love, family and the struggle between man and society. It also explores an east-west theme and the conflict between the haves and the have-nots. This thought provoking opera with its beautiful musical compositions first premiered in the year 2007 on September 22, at the Teatro alla Scala of Milan and is composed of three acts. The original creator of Teneke, namely Yaşar Kemal, graced the premiere along with his wife and took a bow together with the cast to the thundering applause of the audience. The opera has a rustic theme and all musical scores are conducted by Roberto Abbado.The show runs for two and a three –quarter hours and is to be staged for a very limited period only.
